In operation, fresh air is drawn into the cooler from an outside source, through water evaporating filter pads, by a power driven fan. The temperature of the air is reduced by the principle of evaporative cooling. The air is then forced through a discharge opening. May be connected to an air duct system. See also AIR CONDITIONER.
